Declutter Your Life in Just 15 Minutes a Day
Getting rid of the clutter seems overwhelming, but just 15 minutes a day devoted to decluttering your home makes a big difference!
We’ve made it to Day 25 of the 30 Day Decluttering Challenge. Today, just keep working on the areas in your home that you know you need to declutter.
If you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably put a lot of time and effort into getting the clutter out of your life this month. You’ve seen the difference it makes to your mental health, to your time, and maybe even to your budget.
And if you’re like me, you want to make sure that it never gets this out of hand again!
So how do we stop that from happening?
The 15 Minute a Day Principle
The most important decluttering principle I have learned this month is that it doesn’t really take that long to declutter. I am amazed at how many of the projects I have done this month took less than a half-hour to do.
It took me less than a half-hour to take this:

It only took me about 20 minutes to take this junk drawer from this:

Imagine if I just devoted 15 minutes every day to getting rid of clutter? I manage to find at least that much time to do stupid things every day, so it shouldn’t be so hard to find 15 minutes for organizing projects.
Even though I haven’t had as much time this month as I wanted to do the really big projects, only 15 minutes a day on even a much bigger mess will whittle it down soon enough.
I am inspired by what I have been able to accomplish so far this month. And you should be inspired by what you have been able to accomplish, too!
Today I thought I would link up a couple websites I found that have great decluttering calendars.
Home Storage Solutions 101 has an awesome 52 week decluttering mission, including 15 minute a day decluttering calendars. Click here to read all about it.
My Simpler Life has a very similar declutter calendar. I actually download hers every single January, and have every intention to use it. It just never became a habit that stuck, though.
I like the idea of giving 15 minutes of my daily time to just quickly organizing a small area of my home.
The problem with organizing projects is that they don’t stay perfectly organized forever. So staying on top of it on a daily basis is important.
Once I have tackled my biggest problem areas (remember my action plan?), I will print one of these calendars out for daily guidance.
No matter how I do it, though, I’m making the 15 minutes a day commitment. Are you with me?

I love the tutorials for decorating a Christmas tree, thank you! I, too, love red and gold but I also love blue. I throw some blue ornaments in as accents. Love red and blue together!
I learned some new things in your post and will try this year! To finish off my tree, I get bead garland and cut them up into different lengths and hang all over the out side of my tree, it looks so opulent and jewel like. I use gold and pearl .
I purchased a white tree on sale after Christmas last year, and I am so excited to come up with a fun color scheme for it! I love decorating Christmas trees. 🙂
I love your idea for bead garland. I used to use a lot of bead garland, too. I just draped it all over, though I didn't cut them up. I may have to try that this year!
